The BasicsSunspire Health Desert Palms is a licensed residential treatment facility that provides a personal approach to care for men and women suffering from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our highly trained team of physicians, nurses, therapists and residential staff are addiction specialists who will get to know each patient in order to develop an individualized recovery plan. All treatment plans follow an evidence-based, comprehensive model of treatment that heals whole patients as well as their family systems to set them up for a successful life in recovery.Accommodations and FoodDesert Palms is located just outside of the luxury destination of Palm Springs on property that was once a Hollywood movie set and boutique hotel. The facility’s palm tree-lined landscape with desert mountain views provides an ideal environment for escaping the chaos of addiction and healing in body, mind, and spirit. With 36 beds available and nursing staff on-site 24 hours a day, the facility offers resort-like accommodations that give peace of mind to men and women seeking a life of sobriety. Patients have access to an onsite outdoor pool, jacuzzi, and recreation room outfitted with a television and computers. Desert Palms also has a commercial-grade kitchen where its staff chef prepares nutritious and delicious meals three times per day. Treatment and StaffIn addition to its residential/inpatient program, Desert Palms offers onsite sub-acute social detox (when necessary), Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at a separate Desert Palms sober living building. Each patient receives individualized treatment based on his or her specific needs for recovery. Patients have many different varieties of therapy available during treatment, including individual therapy, CBT, psycho-education, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, and adventure therapy. Alternative therapies such as yoga, meditation, and animal-assisted therapy are also offered. The facility has a high staff-to-patient ratio, ensuring that each patient receives the personalized care he or she deserves.
At Skywood, we are deeply invested in helping you regain your health. Our programming approach to recovery is designed with that in mind, from individual and group therapy to adventure therapy, art therapy and yoga. Each of these activities builds on the others to get to the root causes of addiction, introduce healthy new habits, address any co-occurring mental health issues and provide the mental and physical space you need in order to heal. We also provide access to regular 12-Step meetings and peer support groups. What we do at Skywood is different for several reasons. First, we treat addiction and mental health at the same time in a highly integrated way, looking to restore a person’s physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. Second, we focus on resolving trauma, underlying issues and deep-rooted emotional pain that often causes substance abuse in the first place. Lastly, we emphasize life skills that help each person build a foundation for sustainable, long-term recovery.
Situated at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, Village Behavioral Health offers an ideal setting for adolescents to begin facing their difficulties free from distractions. Our programs's goal is to help teenagers make better choices by helping them understand how poor choices have affected them in the past. Village Behavioral Health provides a safe, secure, and serene setting to allow treatment to truly begin.Family involvement is essential to make a lasting change. For the adolescent to get the full benefit of our program, we believe the family must be active participants in the treatment process. Family Therapy occurs on a regular basis and is a critical part of our program, ensuring long-term success of the youth.Village Behavioral Health’s Alcohol & Drug Program follows the 12-step model. Each adolescent begins their treatment within the 12-step model and engages in on-campus groups. Adolescents are also introduced to a relapse prevention program and guided in gaining control over their substance abuse and addiction.
