Semi-synthetic opiods include heroin and oxycodone (also known by the brand name OxyContin). Methadone, used as a substitute for heroin, is a fully synthetic opiod. Percodan, Percocet, Darvocet, Dilaudid and Vicodin are also considered to be opiates.
