Through education, individualized treatment and proven tools of recovery, our clients attain a thorough understanding of their recovery. We offer a full spectrum of care for addiction treatment. This is part of our commitment to creating a long-term foundation for recovery with the men and women who stay with us. We offer detoxification services for those in the grips of their abuse as our highest level of care. Our main treatment programs are at the residential level, which give you time to learn recovery skills in a safe and serene setting and explore the roots of your addiction. We treat alcoholism, opiates, prescription drug addictions, and many other types of substance abuse. Each client receives their own assessment and a tailored treatment plan based around their own background and needs. We also have a premier extended care program for women called Belle of the Oaks. Our continuum of care continues with PHP and IOP programming as our clients get better and start re-integrating into their lives. And unlike many other addiction rehab clinics, we offer outpatient therapy and counseling, where you can schedule weekly or as-needed sessions.
At Life Center of Galax our sole focus is your recovery. Treatment here includes a number of evidence based options. We believe in creating and implementing treatment plans that are in accordance with our patients’ own perceptions of their personal strengths, capabilities, and needs. In this way, our patients attain the greatest chance for achieving successful and lasting treatment outcomes.
Experience Recovery withdrawal management services are provided in a residential setting allowing clients to recover in a peaceful, home-like atmosphere. A wide range of withdrawal management services are organized within a comprehensive therapeutic environment that includes diagnostic determination, individual withdrawal management plans, psychiatric consultations if needed, medication education, individual counseling, individualized treatment planning, client advocacy, referral to community providers and discharge planning. Services are provided by licensed/certified clinicians and medical professionals.Detoxification from opioids without pharmacological support afterwards remains the dominant model of treatment despite decades of experience and evidence to the contrary. Upon completion of detox, Experience Recovery believes that it is necessary to teach the skills to cope with cravings and life challenges without drugs. During the residential portion of treatment, the individual will begin to learn the skills needed to live drug free. Experience Recovery understands opioid dependence and medications may need to be extended in all phases of treatment. Treatment will focus on recovery, and the many ways it can be reached.Once a client is stabilized and meets criteria for a less intensive level of care they can seamlessly move to our Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, and Outpatient care. It is the belief of Experience Recovery that treatment should be a smooth transition and not each level of care a separate entity. All of the services offered are evidenced based and trauma informed care.

Narcotics Anonymous
Narcotics Anonymous is it for you?
Narcotics Anonymous or NA is a 12 step program that is similar to the other non-profit organization: Alcoholics Anonymous. This program is designed to help people who have a drug problem. However, not every drug addict can enter NA and have success. It takes a good level of will power to make it through.
Depending on the drug, the habit can be very difficult to beat. Someone who is trying to kick a cocaine habit that has been a part of them for years may have a difficult time in Narcotics Anonymous . However, someone who has had surgery recently and grew attached to opiates like Vicodin, but haven’t been abusing them long may find comfort in the NA program. However, all you really need to beat your addiction is the desire to stop using drugs.

If it were Alcoholics Anonymous it would be simple, as the only drug in the mix would be alcohol. NA has so many varieties of drugs that individual studies have not been done to that extreme. There is no percentage on how many cocaine users versus how many heroin users succeed with the program. Simply, if you want to beat your addiction through Narcotics Anonymous, do your research; show up to meetings and follow the program. If you follow the program...
