One of the biggest steps in dealing with alcoholism is detox . It is often a process that’s feared because we hear so much about the negative symptoms. Detox, or detoxification is almost exactly what it sounds like. Any mood-altering substance such as alcohol is essentially a poison, therefore toxic. You need to go through alcoholic detox to make sure that your body is free of the toxic effects of alcohol and you can begin your journey of recovery.
